Imedi TV self-regulating agency has partly satisfied the NGOs’ complaint regarding discriminatory reporting

On 14 February Imedi TV self-regulatory appeals agency has partly accepted the complaint regarding the story “Children sent to madrassa” that had been aired in the TV show “Skhva Rakursit”. The complaint was filed by the organizations: Relations of Georgian Muslims, Media Development Foundation (MDF) and Tolerance and Diversity Institute (TDI).

Observations of the week

During the period of 9 -15 February the following facts have been noted: incitement of individual hatred -2; incitement of intolerance -1; religious discrimination -3; xenophobia -11; Armenophobia -1; Turkophobia -2; homophobia - 20; gender stereotypes -2; anti-Western sentiments -17.
